Adidas Originals X SUPERKICKS SAMBA

Our friends at Superkicks made a Samba. And, annoyingly, it’s a great shoe.

Inspired by the tradition of passing down cherished possessions, the Superkicks x adidas Consortium Samba “Heirloom” takes cues from the petis of old India — handcrafted trunks used to store objects of value.

Crafted in leather, the design features gold detailing, a buckle, rivets and embellishments, with trunk-inspired detailing on the heel and a patterned sockliner.

Created with the intention of becoming something worth keeping and passing down.

A great India story, interpreted rather nicely on a great German shoe. We’ll give them that.

We considered not buying it, as we are competitors after all, but that didn’t feel right, as they’re a bunch of nice folks and this is a great moment for them and for the Indian sneaker scene that we all worked so hard to build. So: congratulations, guys. Great shoe. Great story. Very happy for you. Truly.
