Vans and The Museum of Modern Art collabourate on a footwear and apparel collection highlighting works by celebrated artists from MoMA’s collection. MoMA and Vans share a passion for inspiring creative expression and individuality around the world. The Vans MoMA Sk8-Hi combines the legendary Vans lace-up high top with an allover print showcasing Lyubov Popova’s avant-garde works of art. The Vans MoMA Sk8-Hi also includes re-enforced toe caps to withstand repeated wear, padded collars for support and flexibility, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.
Featured in this collection is LIUBOV POPOVA (Russian, 1889-1924) a pioneering female avant-garde artist who developed her own unique visual language that incorporated Cubism and Futurism. Believing deeply in the intersection between art and life, Popova worked in many forms, from painting to stage and textile design.
